Ambassador of Pakistan distributed food assistance among Nigerien flood affectees at Dosso Region

On the invitation of Governor of Dosso Region, Ambassador of Pakistan visited Dosso Region and donated 500 bags of rice among the flood-affected citizens of village Bella in Dosso region.

The village is situated around 250 kilometer away from the capital city Niamey. The village was severely affected by the recent floods. H.E. Mr. Ousmaan Mousa, Governor Dosso, who hails from same village and Dr. Mamdou Maiga, Secretary General of Dosso University requested Pakistan Embassy for urgent food assistance.

Mr. Ahmed Ali Sirohey, Ambassador of Pakistan assured them instant assistance and sent 500 sacks of rice. The Governor Dosso, Secretary General Dosso University, District Management, Police, Mayor of Town and local representatives, witnessed the presentation ceremony.

The representatives appreciated the Pakistan embassy for the relief activities in far-flung rural areas since last month.

He said that it is the only embassy that has shown solidarity with the people in distress. The Ambassador has visited several flood affected areas and distributed food packets, he said. Governor Dosso, H.E. Mr. Ousmaan Mousa acknowledged Embassy’s support to the flood affected people of Dosso in difficult time.

He appreciated the Ambassador’s role and thanked the government of Pakistan on timely help to the flood affected communities of Republic of Niger. The rice was mainly distributed among the widows of kauora village.

The Ambassador assured that Pakistan would keep it’s support continue for the brotherly people of Republic of Niger.
