Change of guards ceremonies held at tombs of Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Iqbal


KARACHI/LAHORE (News10) – Separate change of guards ceremonies held at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal as nation is observing 55th Defence and Martyrs Day today (Sunday).

Change of guards ceremony at Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum 

In Karachi, three women and 46 male cadets of the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) Asghar Khan Academy took over guard duties at the Quaid’s mausoleum.

Air Vice Marshal Shakil Ghazanfar was chief guest of the ceremony. While addressing the gathering, he said Pakistan succeeded on September 6, 1965 due to the bravery and valor of soldiers of armed forces.

Change of guards ceremony at Allama Iqbal’s mausoleum

In Lahore, an elegant change of guards ceremony was also organized at Allama Iqbal’s mausoleum where a contingent of the Punjab Rangers took over guard duties.

Director General Rangers Aamir Majeed was the chief guest on the occasion. He laid floral wreath, offered Fateha at the tomb and recorded his views in the visitor’s book.
