Govt to address concerns expressed by PML-Q


LAHORE (News10) – According to sources, the PTI government will contact the PML-Q leadership, including the Chaudhry brothers and Tariq Bashir Cheema, to allay their concerns.

In this regard, a statement issued by Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood said that PML-Q is an ally, they will move forward with us and their concerns will be addressed.

Shafqat Mahmood said that in alliances, disagreements and reservations are nothing new. The Prime Minister has set up a committee comprising Asad Umar, Pervez Khattak and Chaudhry Sarwar to address issues in the coalition, he added.

Meanwhile, government officials reached Services Hospital Lahore to check on ailing PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Friday. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar inquired about his well-being and wished his a swift recovery. In the afternoon, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Zulfi Bukhari also reached the hospital and met Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.

Prime Minister Imran Khan himself phoned to inquire after the health of the PMLQ President. He conveyed his best wishes for the early recovery of the veteran politician during a telephonic conversation with his son MNA Chaudhry Shafey Hussain.

Later, Federal Minister Azam Khan Swati also reached Lahore and met the Chaudhry brothers. Azam Swati presented a bouquet to Chaudhry Shujaat and prayed for his speedy recovery.

Former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has been shifted to Services Hospital due to chest infection. Dr Amjad, the Principal of SIMS, told the media that he is now in good health and a medical board has been formed to monitor his condition.
