PM Imran bashes Nawaz Sharif over anti-army statement

ISLAMABAD (News10) – A day after opposition’s power show in Gujranwala, Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Saturday) heavily critcised former premier and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif for allegedly maligning the top military leadership. The Prime Minister said Nawaz was using inappropriate language against the army and ISI chiefs at a time when Pakistani soldiers were constantly sacrificing their lives for the motherland.

While addressing the convention of Tiger Force in Islamabad, PM Imran said the PML-N leader is using Narendra Modi’s language. Today, he is being praised by Indian media for his anti-army remarks.

“In all of South Asia’s history, there has not been a government in India which hates Muslims and Pakistan as much as Narendra Modi’s government does,” he added.

“There are constant attacks on our soldiers; they are sacrificing their lives every day,” he said, mentioning that 20 security personnel were martyred in two attacks on Thursday.

“Why are they sacrificing their lives? For us; for the country. And this jackal (geedar) who ran with his tail between his legs used such language for the army chief and DG ISI,” the premier added, referring to Nawaz Sharif.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan dismissed joint opposition’s rally in Gujranwala as a “circus”.

“Eleven years ago, I had predicted this that there will be this circus. I had predicted that when we go after these robbers, they will unite. You saw last night that they all were sitting together.”

Regarding Maryan Nawaz and Bilawal Bhutto, PM Imran said he will not talk about the two children who made speeches in the PDM rally.

“One of them may be a grandmother, but she is still a child for me. No human can be considered to be a leader till they undergo a struggle. These two (Bilawal and Maryam) have not done an hour’s halal work in their lives.

“The two who are lecturing today were raised on haram money earned by their two respective fathers. So it is useless to talk about them,” he continued.

Refering to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the premier also stated that he does not want to talk about 12th player in opposition’s team.

He warned that the ‘opposition will see a different Imran Khan now’.

“No one will get a production order unless they respond in the courts. People want their money back from these thieves. They will be kept in jails like ordinary prisoners and not VIPs,” he continued.

PM Imran appealed the Chief Justice of Pakistan and National Accountability Court to bring all these culprits to justice and bring back country’s looted money. He assured that the government will extend every possible support in this regard.

Referring to the top leadership of the opposition parties, the Prime Minister said they have looted the country over the last thirty years but their cases have yet not been decided.

He said the courts and the NAB are independent institutions but he will further strengthen the institutions that are under his direct control to nab these corrupt elements.

Turning to the Tiger Force, the Prime Minister said they have an important role to identify the hoarders and help check the prices of essential commodities.

He said their responsibility will only be to report the matter of hoarding and price hike on the Tiger Force portal launched today and then it will be responsibility of the administration to take action.

Referring to the inquiry conducted into sugar and wheat scam, the Prime Minister said a plan has been framed to bring down the prices of the sugar.

He said wheat has also been imported to meet the deficit.

Imran Khan said Pakistan is amongst the most vulnerable countries to climate change and it will be through collective efforts we will plant ten billion trees in the country.
