Polling for PS-52 Umerkot-II by-election underway


UMERKOT (News10) – Polling for the PS-52 constituency of Sindh Assembly, in Umerkot District is being held today (Monday)

The polling started at 9:00am and will continue till 5:00pm without any interval. The seat fell vacant after the death of Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Syed Ali Mardan Shah.

Total 12 candidates are in the field, while main contest is expected between Syed Ameer Ali Shah of PPP and Arbab Ghulam Rahim of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA).

At least 128 polling stations and 423 polling booths have been setup in the constituency for 153,000 registered voters to exercise their right of vote. At leat 1,400 policemen and 400 Rangers personnel have been deployed for the security purposes.
