Sindh reports highest daily COVID-19 deaths in over four months


KARACHI ( News10) – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that COVID-19 has claimed 19 more lives in the province on Friday, the highest number of deaths on a single day in over four months

The CM Sindh said that 827 more patients recovered overnight and returned to normal life. He informed that 1276 new cases were confirmed against 12975 tests during the last 24 hours.

On the other hand, following the outbreak of the second wave of coronavirus in Karachi, the local administration has decided to impose smart lockdown in four districts and micro smart lockdown in two districts.

An important meeting of Deputy Commissioners and District Health Officers was held with Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalawani in chair. The meeting decided to impose smart and micro-smart lock in six districts of the city including South, Central, East, West districts of the city and Malir.

Meanwhile, micro smart lockdown to be imposed in Korangi and Malir districts of Karachi.

A formal notification for the regarding the lockdown is expected to be issued tomorrow [Saturday] by the concerned Deputy Commissioners. The deputy commissioners also identified the affected areas.

The number of coronavirus cases in Karachi is rapidly surging and the people are frequently found violating the SOPs.
