Those who demanded lockdown are now holding rallies: PM Imran

SIALKOT ( News10) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday has expressed concerned over the attitude of the opposition parties and said that those who had criticized the government for not observing complete lockdown are now holding public gatherings.

Addressing a ceremony after inaugurating private airline company AirSial in Sialkot, the premier said that now in the second wave, people again need to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) so that the pandemic could be overcome.

Pakistan is one of the few countries that better handled the pandemic in its first phase. Government’s policy of protecting the lives and livelihood of people proved quite effective, he asserted.

He further appreciated the business community over introducing their own private airline. Sialkot will become business hub in coming days, he predicted.

The PM said that industrialization and increase in exports will lead to wealth creation and enhancement of foreign exchange reserves.

Referring to China’s model of inclusive development, Imran Khan said the biggest objective of his government is to uplift the living standard of the poor and bring backward areas at par with other parts of the country.
