Niamey: On the invitation of H.E. Mr. Ahmed Ali Sirohey, a delegation of senior journalists of various media groups visited Pakistan Embassy Niger. His Excellency Mr. Ambassador greeted them Ramadan wishes. During the meeting Ambassador briefed various areas of bilateral cooperation between two countries.
He informed that Pakistan and Niger have been enjoying close brotherly and friendly relations since very long time. The Ambassador further informed that Pakistan is cognizant of the needs of our brothers in Niger. In this regard, Government of Pakistan has sent two Pakistan Air Force C-130s and a Navy Ship carrying thousands of tons of rice and other material for flood affected population in Niger. He further informed about Pakistan Embassy’s efforts connecting two brotherly countries including organizing bilateral meetings on various regional & International fora, promotion of trade and commercial relations, signing of MoU in various fields including Defence & trainings to the Nigerien Security personnel, training of diplomats, relief & food assistance program for flood affected population, scholarship program, Establishing Pakistan Book Corner, Linking various universities, initiative of virtual library and other welfare project including establishing a school for street children of Niger.
While commenting on new government in Niger, Ambassador of Pakistan appreciated fair journalism and role during recent election. He congratulated them that for the first time Niger has peacefully transfer power from one elected government to another civil government. He especially appreciated senior journalists role in strengthening democracy in Niger.
As a token of appreciation H.E. Mr. Ahmed Ali Sirohey gifted Pakistani Rice bags to the journalists.
The Journalists thanked And appreciated the Ambassador’s efforts to start various developmental and welfare projects in Niger
